Storm Fall in Battle on the Road Against Cavaliers

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Volleyball continued G-MAC play on the road against the Walsh Cavaliers. The Storm would put up a strong fight, but would fall to the Cavaliers in straight sets.

Set 1: The Storm would go ahead early with a 5-2 lead with an ace from Jenna Sayles, and kills from Kennady Wiley and Jasmine Heyward, each assisted from Sayles. The Cavaliers would then take an 8-7 lead. Lake Erie would take the next three points for a 10-8 lead with two kills from Rori Hanken and an ace form Bella Kessler. Walsh would grab momentum in the set taking the next six points for a 14-10 lead. The Storm would bring the deficit to 17-15 after a kill from Wiley. The Cavaliers would take eight of the next nine points to close out the set 25-16.  
 
Set 2: The Storm would do the exact same thing as the first set going ahead early 5-2 with kills from Nora Larson and Gabrielle Jones, along with a solo block each from Larson and Hanken. Lake Erie would grow their lead to 9-4 after a kills from Hanken and Jones, and an ace from Kessler. The Cavaliers would fight back and then take a 13-11 lead. The Storm would move ahead 17-15 after kills Larson, Lexi Stooksbury, and Allison Kirch, a block from Larson and Hanken, and a solo block from Jones. With the set knotted up at 19, Walsh would take the set 25-21.  
 
Set 3: After the teams went back and forth to begin the set, the Cavaliers would take a 14-10 lead. The Storm would cut the deficit to 17-15 after a kill from Sadie Nawrocki and an ace from Kylie Anderson. Walsh would then go ahead 22-17. Lake Erie would bring the score to 23-20 after two kills from Sophia McKenzie. Walsh would then secure the set 25-21.

Looking Ahead
 
Lake Erie concludes their time on the road to begin G-MAC play against Ursuline College on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6 p.m. 
 
Ursuline is currently 0-7 overall and 0-2 in G-MAC play to begin the season, with losses against Walsh and Malone to open conference play. In 2024, the Arrows finished 3-26 and 3-13 in the G-MAC. In the 2025 preseason poll, the Arrows were picked to finish 5th in the G-MAC East division.
