Storm Fall in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Kentucky -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled today to face the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Storm were unable to overcome the Panthers and fell 88-57 in the game, now dropping their record to 4-20 on the year and 1-17 in G-MAC play.

Game Recap

The game began with the Storm facing early challenges as the Panthers jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter. However, the Storm refused to back down, working hard to generate offensive opportunities and improve their defensive intensity. By the second quarter, the Storm managed to find a better rhythm, putting up 12 points while continuing to battle against the Panthers' strong shooting.

Coming out of halftime, Lake Erie delivered their best quarter of the game, exploding for 23 points and showing flashes of their true potential. Their offensive surge kept them competitive, demonstrating their ability to adapt and compete at a high level. Though the Panthers managed to maintain their lead, the Storm's energy and fight were evident.

In the final quarter, the Storm continued to push the pace, refusing to let the deficit deter them. Despite Kentucky Wesleyan's strong finish, the Storm played with heart until the final buzzer, showcasing their potential for future matchups. Their perseverance and second-half improvement indicate that with a few adjustments, they will be a formidable force moving forward.

Looking Ahead

The Storm will finish up their season at home and will be back in action on Thursday, February 27th against Northwood before taking on Findlay for their final game on Saturday, March 1st.
