BUFFALO -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled this afternoon to close out the 2025 calender year with a non-conference road game against the D'Youville Saints. The offense wasn't able to find a rhythm despite the strong defensive play and they fell 60-50.
Game Recap
Coming off the tail of a great non-conference win against Roberts Wesleyan, the Storm looked to carry that momentum into today's game. The Storm jumped out to an early 11-4 lead but the Saints tied it up at 11-11 and eventually took a 20-11 lead at the end of the quarter. The offense wasn't able to find its rhythm in the second and the deficit became 42-26 at the half.
In the second half, the Storm defense shined. The Saints only scored 18 total points and shot 28.5 percent in the half. Lake Erie scored 24 points in the half though and the game ended with a tough loss on the road.
Emma Fouch led the team with 11 points while
Grace Lyon and
Megan Mares led the defensive effort with seven rebounds each.
Looking Ahead
