TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie volleyball returned to G-MAC play and transformed into the Unicorns as they traveled to southwest Ohio to go up against the Tiffin Dragons. The Dragons would take control of the Unicorns in straight sets.

Set 1: Teams would begin the set exchanging points. The Dragons would move ahead 11-5 after four straight points. The Unicorns would cut their deficit to 13-9 after solo blocks from
Rori Hanken and
Gabrielle Jones and a kill from
Allison Kirch, assisted from
Kylie Anderson. Tiffin would then grow their lead to 18-9. Lake Erie would take three of the next four points with kills from
Kennady Wiley and
Nora Larson, bringing the score to 19-12. The Dragons score six straight points to close out the set 25-12.
Set 2: After an ace from
Jenna Sayles to open the set, the Dragons would grab full momentum, going on a 5-0 and 9-0 scoring run in the set and their lead balloon all the way to 22-5. With the set out of reach, the Unicorns would have a block from Jones and
Kennedy Stewart and kills from Jones and
Sophia McKenzie. Tiffin would take the set comfortably 25-8.
Set 3: After the teams would open the set exchanging points, the Dragons would move ahead 11-5. Tiffin would continue growing their lead to 18-8. Kills from Jones and Wiley, each assisted from
Dylan Fox would close the scoring for the Unicorns as the Dragons would close out the set 25-10.

Lake Erie has now lost seven straight against Tiffin and are 2-18 all-time. The last Lake Erie win was in 2018 at home in four sets.

Lake Erie concludes their stay in southwest Ohio as they go to battle against the University of Findlay on Saturday, October 25th at 4 p.m.
Findlay is currently 15-3 overall and 7-1 in G-MAC play this season. Recently, the Oilers went 2-1 at the Midwest Region Crossover with wins over the GLVC's UIndy and the GLIAC's Northern Michigan, along with a loss to the GLVC's Rockhurst as well as a sweep of Ursuline in their G-MAC return. In the 2025 preseason poll, Findlay was picked as the favorites to win the G-MAC North division.
