PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie men's soccer team hosted the #8 Cedarville University Yellow Jackets for a high-profile, Great Midwest matchup. The Storm came out and played their best ball and forced a 0-0 tie with the Yellow Jackets. The draw takes the Storm's record to 4-3-6 on the season and 4-3-2 mark in G-MAC play.
Game Recap
Going into the contest, the Storm were on a tough two game losing streak after falling to Kentucky Wesleyan and Thomas More. With a much tougher opponent coming to town in #8 Cedarville, the Storm were looking to get back on track.
It was a fantastic display of two great teams battling it out, with each hoping for the other to make one small mistake and allow for a score.
In the first half, both sides played fast and aggressive. They nearly drew even in shot attempts with the Storm getting the slight edge at 5-4.
In the second half, the story was more of the same. The Yellow Jackets got the slight edge with five shots compared to the Storm's three but none of them were able to go in. By the end, both defenses would prevail and the game ended with a 0-0 draw.
Veljko Radovanovic led Lake Erie with four shot which proved to be half of the team's total shots.
Lucas Howe,
Dario Stadler,
Jack Bole, and
Glory Hser would account for the remaining half.
In goal,
David Ruiz Ospina recorded two saves in the shutout.

Lake Erie will compete against the Ashland University Eagles this Saturday, October 18th on the road. The game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
