CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky — The Lake Erie men's soccer team traveled today to face the Thomas More University Saints in another Great Midwest matchup. They would fall 2-0 in the contest and their record now stands at 4-3-5 on the season and 4-3-1 in G-MAC play.
Game Recap
The Storm offense struggled in the first half, getting off just one total shot while conceding five to the Saints. The Saints got one of those shots to go in during the 23rd minute on a goal by Nick Phyllis and an assist by Will Fox.
The Lake Erie defense held the rest of the way and they took that score into the half.
After some back-and-forth in the second half, the Saints scored again in the 74th minute and that proved to be all they needed as the game would end in a tough 2-0 loss.
Glory Hser led the team with two shot attempts and goalkeeper David Ruiz Ospina collected five saves.
Looking Ahead
The Storm will be back in action on Thursday, October 16th at home to face the nationally ranked Cedarvile University Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m.
