PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team hosted the Ursuline Arrows tonight at the Jerome T. Osborne Center. The Storm would suffer a 90-54 loss to the Arrows and drop their record to 3-12 on the season and 0-9 in G-MAC play.

From the opening tip-off, Ursuline set the tone, establishing a strong lead early on. Meanwhile, the Storm faced some challenges finding their rhythm and managed 6 points, but they showed determination to keep battling.
The second quarter brought more of the same as the Arrows extended their lead. Adding another 24 points to their tally, they entered halftime with a sizable cushion. Lake Erie worked hard to generate opportunities and added 12 points of their own, but the deficit remained significant at the break.
Coming out of halftime, the Storm showed a renewed sense of purpose. They outscored Ursuline in the third quarter, 17-15, thanks to improved offensive execution and defensive intensity. This effort demonstrated their resilience and ability to compete at a high level despite the challenging circumstances.
The fourth quarter was a more evenly matched affair, with Ursuline scoring 22 points to Lake Erie's 19. The Storm continued to fight until the final buzzer, but Ursuline's consistent play throughout the game ensured their victory.
In the end, the Arrows ability to capitalize on fast breaks and maintain strong defensive cohesion proved to be the deciding factor. Their offensive firepower and team effort shone through, while the Storm's persistence and second-half improvements highlighted their potential to bounce back.
Kylie Maxwell led the effort for the Storm. She had a team-high 11 points and four rebounds while adding two blocks and a steal. Lilee Carlson also had a decent night, scoring nine points and grabbing three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and three steals.
The Matchup
The loss now gives the Storm a 9-14 all-time record against the Arrows. In their last meeting, Lake Erie pulled off a 58-55 victory in Pepper Pike. They will look to grab onto that road magic when they to get another opportunity to face the Arrows, this time on the road on February 15 at 1 p.m.
Looking Ahead
Lake Erie will begin a three-game road trip starting Saturday, January 25th at Ashland University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
