Storm Dominate Saints, 17-6

PAINESVILLE, OH — The Lake Erie Storm Men's Lacrosse team was back at home for another G-MAC match on Wednesday, April 3, as they took on the Thomas More University Saints.

The Storm found themselves in control with a 9-2 lead going into the half. Lake Erie would cruise past the Saints winning 17-6 on an all out team effort. This brings the Storm record to 5-6 on the year and 4-1 in G-MAC competition.

Jackman Schooley led the way for the Storm in the first half with two goals. Nicholas Mahoney, Zephaniah Scott, Dawson Kindall, Kevin Albright, Robert Weil, Tim Woods, and Billy Coughlin each scored in the first half of play as well. Weil and Kindall each had two assists each in the first half. 

Schooley, Albright, and Mahoney all had three goals in the contest. Scott, Kindall, and Coughlin all chipped in two goals as well. Kindall had a team high of three assists, while Mahoney and Weil each had two. 

Lake Erie caused six Thomas More turnovers of the Saints 28 total on the night. The Storm were able to gain 32 ground balls to the Saint's 20 during the contest. Garrett Brockmeyer went 4-11 on faceoff attempts, while Joshua Hegbe completed 5-13 in the category. Mitch Kiebala had four saves in the match, only allowing two goals to the Saints. Kiebala moves to 3-2 now on the year in goal. 

Lake Erie heads to Erie, PA, on Saturday, April 6, to take on the Mercyhurst University Lakers. The match begins at 1 PM.
