Storm Battle with #13 Griffins in Close Game, Falling 15-10

GREENSBURG, PA — The Lake Erie Storm Men's Lacrosse team headed out on a two game road stint with game one against the #13 Seton Hill Griffins, on Saturday, March 23. Lake Erie was 1-2 on the road coming into today's matchup. 

The Storm found themselves down 8-5 going into the half. Lake Erie would head into the fourth quarter only down one to the Griffins 9-10. The Storm could not contain the Seton Hill offense giving up five goals in the final quarter. The Storm would fall 10-15 after a valiant effort to climb back into the game. This brings the Storm record to 4-5 on the year and 3-1 in G-MAC competition.

Andrew Cramer led the Storm in scoring with three goals on the day. Dawson Kindall and Jackman Schooley each chipped in two goals each. Billy Caughlin, Kevin Albright, and Tim Woods all scored one in today's match. Kindall, Coughlin, and Schooley all had two assists, while Jack Allen had one. Albright, Cramer, Kindall, and Woods all sparked the comeback in the third quarter scoring goals to bring the team back within one. 

Lake Erie caused 21 Seton Hill turnovers compared to their own 19. The Storm gained 21 ground balls during the contest. Garrett Brockmeyer went 6-21 on face off attempts and gained a team high six ground balls. Mitch Kiebala had 10 saves in the loss giving up 15 goals to the Griffins. Kiebala moves to 2-1 now on the year in goal. 

Lake Erie continues the road stint as they head to Frostburg, MD, on Saturday, March 30, to take on the Frostburg State University Bobcats. Face off is at 12 PM.
