PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie Storm were back in action at home against the Walsh University Cavaliers on Wednesday, March 19. The Storm would lead going into the half 6-5. Lake Erie would go into the fourth quarter all tied up 7-7. The Storm would pull out a close match outscoring the Cavaliers 3-2 in the fourth quarter, winning 10-9. This brings the Storm record to 4-4 on the year and 3-0 in G-MAC competition.
Kevin Albright led the way for the Storm with four goals total and scored the game winning goal with six minutes to go in regulation. Albright also had an assist to go with his four goals. Dawson Kindall, Billy Coughlin, and Jackman Schooley all had two goals on the day. Coughlin also had two assists with Andrew Cramer adding one assist as well.
Lake Erie caused 27 Walsh turnovers, while gaining 30 ground balls during the contest. Garrett Brockmeyer went 7-17 on face off attempts and gained a team high seven ground balls. Mitch Kiebala had 12 saves only allowing nine goals to the Cavaliers. Kiebala moves to 2-0 on the year in goal.
Lake Erie continues conference play as they head to Greensburg, PA, on Saturday, March 23, to take on the Seton Hill Griffins. Face off is at 1 PM.
