PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie women's basketball battled the No. 1 ranked Ashland University Eagles at home to continue Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Storms offense struggled early resulting in a final score of 92-45. This loss brings the Storms record 1-18 (0-13 G-MAC).

Despite the first quarter struggles for the Storm, they were able to improve their offense in the second quarter and go 6-of-12 (50%) from the field. Three point shooting hurt the Storm as they only made one shot off 11 attempts for the game.??  The Eagles were able to score 29 points off turnovers, which contributed to their offensive success. 

The Storm were led by freshman Sophie Chipps who had a career high of 18 points off of an impressive 8-of-13 (61.5%) shooting from the field. She also added four rebounds and one assist. 

The Storm will be back in action when they face the Northwood University Timberwolves at home on Thursday, Feb. 8. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
