PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Storm Men's Basketball team played the Ashland University Eagles, on Saturday, February 3. Lake Erie was down 52-35 at the half, and would go onto lose in a close conference battle 75-87, bringing their overall record to 6-15 and 4-9 in the G-MAC.
After his record-breaking game against Malone, Jonny Manning had another career accomplishment surpassing 1,000 career points made.
Lake Erie had five players in double-digit scoring: C.J. Hornbeak, Jonny Manning, Todd Simons, Leon Hughes, and Trace Bishko. Hornbeak led the team with 21 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Manning had a double-double putting up 14 points and 11 boards and three blocks. Simons added 11 points and seven boards. Hughes had 11 points and five rebounds. Bishko ended with 11 points, three assists, and three rebounds off the bench.
Lake Erie shot 35% from the field and 39.5% from behind the arch. They went 66% from the foul line. They had 45 team rebounds and 18 points off the bench.
Lake Erie is back in action at home on Thursday, February 8, against the Northwood University Timberwolves. Tip off starts at 5:30.
