Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lyon Achieves Season High in Win Against Arrows

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled to Ursuline College to face the Arrows for another G-MAC game. The Storm would go on to secure their first G-MAC win for the 2023-24 season with a final score of 58-55. This improves their overall record to 2-21 (1-16 G-MAC).

The Storm and the Arrows seemed to be matched up well in the first quarter, with the Storm only trailing by three at 15-12. While the team struggled to find the basket in the second quarter, it would be made up and then some in the third. Lake Erie put up 21 points against Ursuline's seven points. The Arrows went out fighting with 20 points in the fourth, but the Storm's 17 points in the final quarter was enough to give them the 58-55 win.

The Storm had a 46.2 field goal percentage in comparison to the Arrows' 32.8%. Ursuline did have a stronger free throw percentage, but the Storm was able to come out on top.

Leaders for the Storm include Grace Lyon, who put up 21 points to achieve her season high. Lyon also tallied seven rebounds and an assist. Anna Ibos and Alexis Lehmkuhl both put up nine points for Lake Erie. Kylie Maxwell led the Storm in rebounds with eight, matching her eight points for the day. Nina Shaffer got away with four steals and five points.

The Storm are on the road for their next game against the Northwood Timberwolves on Wednesday, February 21st. Tip off is set at 5:30 PM.
