PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball battled the Ohio Dominican Panthers at home to continue Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. Despite falling behind in the first half, the Storm would take the lead for the third quarter. However, a strong offensive performance by the Panthers in the fourth quarter would cause the Storm to fall by a final score of 77-64. This loss brings the Storms record 1-21 (0-16 G-MAC).
The Panthers took an early lead in the first quarter and were able to extend their lead to as much as eight points in the second quarter. A strong offensive performance by the Storm put them ahead for most of the third quarter as they were able to score 22 points. However, the Storm's offense would go cold in the fourth quarter, as they only shot 1-of-11 (9.09%).Â
The Storm had two players in double figures. Sophie Chipps put up 15 points and also added six rebounds. She also led the Storm defensively with three steals. Grace Lyon also scored 15 points, while grabbing five rebounds and a block.Â
The Storm will be back on the road on Saturday, February 17th to battle the Ursuline College Arrows for another G-MAC match-up. Tip off will be at 1 p.m.
