PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's basketball returned to their home court after a series of road games. The Storm hosted the Malone Pioneers for another G-MAC game. Lake Erie could not find a rhythm against the Pioneers, with a 75-33 loss as the final score. The Storm move to a 0-12 conference record and are 1-17 overall.
The Storm had a field goal percentage of 27.5% against Malone's 48.3%. The teams were close in free throws, with the Storm shooting 75% to the Pioneers' 80%. The game was controlled by turnovers, which the Storm unfortunately had more of compared to Malone. Despite Lake Erie putting up 11 points against the Pioneers' 12 in the third quarter, the game was taken early by Malone.
Senior Alexis Lehmkuhl led the Storm with eight points for the night. Junior Anna Ibos was right behind with seven points. Ibos also picked up six rebounds for Lake Erie. Freshman Kylie Maxwell earned her career high in blocks for the night with four, along with her career high of four assists.
The Storm look to their next G-MAC match-up on Saturday, February 3rd at 3 PM to host the Ashland Eagles.
