PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie men's soccer team hosted the Walsh University Cavaliers tonight in another Great Midwest matchup. The Storm took care of business and got back on track, taking down the Cavaliers 2-1. The win improves their record to 8-6-1 on the season and 7-5 in G-MAC play.

Lake Erie set the tone early, scoring just 26 seconds into the game courtesy of Aaron Garrote.
The Storm controlled the flow of the game following their early goal and as the first half was looking to come towards a close, Harry Furlong found Luke Peperak in the 42nd minute for the team's second goal of the game.
The Cavaliers improved in the second half but were unable to comeback from their first half deficit. In the 85th minute, they managed to score a garbage-time goal but that was it as the Storm took home a 2-1 victory.
Peperak led the team with six shots with three on goal and Aaron Garrote finished with three himself and two on goal.
In the net, Jason LaVacca recorded six saves on the day to surpass his previous career-high of five, set last season at Concord.
The Matchup
Lake Erie continues their dominance of Walsh, now improving their all-time record to 19-4-1. Prior to their matchup last season which they lost 3-1, the Storm had an eight-game win streak. The win today gives them their second win over the Cavaliers this season.
Looking Ahead
The Storm will be back in action Thursday, October 31st at home against the Tiffin University Dragons. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
