NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The Lake Erie women's basketball team battled the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans this Saturday, Jan. 27 for another Great Midwest Athletic Conference match-up. The Storm would fall behind early and were unable to close the gap, resulting in a final score of 104-51. This loss brings their record to 1-16 (0-11 G-MAC).
The Storm struggled to contain the Trojans offense throughout the game, as they were able to shoot 51.3% from the field. Primarily in the first quarter, the Trojans were able to score 32 points off 11-of-17 (64.7%) shooting in comparison to the Storm's 10 points off 3-of-15 (20%) shooting. This high scoring start for the Trojans would be too much for the Storm to overcome, resulting in a loss.
The Storm had two players in double figures, junior Anna Ibos and sophomore Grace Lyon. Ibos led the Storm in points with 15 and in rebounds with six. She also had two assists and a steal. Lyon had 11 points, along with two rebounds and a block.
The Storm will be back at home on Thursday, Feb. 1 when they take on the Malone University Pioneers for another G-MAC match. Tip off will be at 7:30 p.m.
