CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie women's basketball team took on the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets in another Great Midwest Athletic Conference match-up on Thursday, January 11th. The competitive game would result in a loss for the Storm which brings their record to 1-11 (0-6 GMAC).
Despite the loss, the Storm shot well from the field at 23-of-46 (50%). In the second quarter, they shot a season best of 7-of-12 (58.33%) from the field, and held the Yellow Jackets to just nine points. However this would not be enough for the Storm as they were not able to take the lead in the second half.
The Storm were led by senior Alexis Lehmkuhl who scored a career high of 20 points on 8-of-9 (88.89%) shooting from the field. She also had five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Sophomore Ryan Elbert led the Storm in rebounds with six and with assists with four. She also had seven points.
The Storm will be back in action at home when they take on the Ursuline College Arrows for another Great Midwest Athletic Conference match-up. This game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 13. at 1 p.m
