PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie men's soccer team hosted the Seton Hill Griffins last night for their first home game of the 2023 season. Powered by a strong first half, the Storm came away with a 3-0 victory for their first win of the season.

With the season not starting out how they would like, Lake Erie came out making to look a statement against their PSAC opponent.

The Storm looked strong on offense but were unable to get their first three shots into the net. After missing his first two shots, third time proved to be the charm for Aaron Garrote when he put one in during the 23rd minute.

Tom Akinola muscled one in just five minutes later with help from Maximilian Lintschinger and the Storm started to feel a full momentum swing in their favor.

The Griffin made some well needed halftime adjustments and forced Lake Erie to play more defense in the rest of the way. It wasn't until the 87th minute when Lintschinger scored that the Storm finally caught a break and put Seton Hill away for good.

The win gives Lake Erie their first victory of the season and now improves their record to 1-2.

Lintschinger would score his second goal of the season during the contest which now ties him for second in the G-MAC.

Lake Erie will be back in action on September 13th for their first conference matchup of the season as they travel to face Northwood University.
