PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's volleyball team hosted the Hillsdale Chargers for another G-MAC match. The Storm fought hard in the first two sets, yet the Chargers were able to take all three. The Storm move to a 1-5 conference record and are 2-12 overall.
The Storm and the Chargers were neck and neck throughout the first two sets. Solid offense, defense, and long rallies from both sides kept it tight. At a 17-17 tie in the first set, the Chargers were able to pull ahead to take the 25-17 win. In the second set, Lake Erie took it to a 20-20 tie after leading most of the set, yet Hillsdale was able to come back and take the second set 25-20. The Storm could not get in a rhythm in the last set, and took the third set loss 25-9.
Senior captain Dora Olah finished the match with ten kills, on the road to her 1000 career kills. Junior setter Sarah Leyden recorded eight assists, and junior liber Brooklyn Broadway picked up 16 digs.
The Storm continue their stretch of home games with another G-MAC match on Saturday, September 29th at 1 PM to host the Northwood Timberwolves.
