PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie men's soccer team hosted the Walsh Cavaliers fo their first home conference game of the season. The Storm struggled in the contest and dropped the game, 3-1.
It didn't take long for the Cavaliers to score and let the Storm know that they meant business. In the fourth minute, a Walsh forward pushed
Fabian Kiessetz deep in Lake Erie territory, stole the ball and quickly put it through for an early 1-0 lead.
Lake Erie responded quickly though in the ninth minute when
Tomas Fernandez found
Tom Akinola who lasered one into the bottom left corner to tie things up.
Walsh took the lead in the 42nd minute for the end of the first half and added another in the 79th minute and that was all for the Storm.
Men's soccer falls to 1-3-1 and 0-1-1 to begin conference play. They will look to get back on track Wednesday, September 20 as they host Cedarville at 1 PM.
