PHILIPPI, WV -- The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team traveled on the road today to compete in another Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup, this time taking on the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers. Thanks in part to a strong second half, the Storm were able to handle the Battlers, 17-3.
Lake Erie got off to a great start, shutting out Alderson Broaddus 4-0 in the first quarter but struggled mightily in the second, getting outscored 2-3 and only taking a 6-3 lead into the half to a Battlers team who was 0-9 entering today's competition.
The Storm would flip things around and outscore Alderson Broaddus 11-0 in the second half and come away with a 17-3 victory.
Connor Dent recorded four goals and one assist in the game while
Joey Ellison would tally three goals of his own. Goalkeeper
Kenneth Shobert had himself a day in the net, only allowing three goals and recording 12 saves in 60 minutes of play.
The win, take the Storm's record to 4-7 on the year and 2-1 in conference play. They will be back in action on Saturday, April 15 at home against the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals.
