BUFFALO, NY -- The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team traveled to Buffalo today to take on the D'Youville College Saints. The Storm bounced back from their disappointing loss to Seton Hill last week and took down the Saints, 20-9. The win also marked the 100th victory in program history for the Storm, with their first win coming on March 11, 2010 against Otterbein University.
Dawson Kindall got his team on the board early with an assist from
Joey Ellison as the Storm had no problem getting into a groove against the Saints. By the end of the first quarter, they would be in full control and hold an 8-1 lead.
D'Youville came out swinging in the second quarter however, holding off the Storm offense and putting up three unanswered goals in 9:07 minutes of play. From there, Lake Erie would put up four straight goals and finish out the half with a 12-4 lead.
In the third, the Storm would play a tighter game with the Saints, scoring six goals and surrendering four.
After all was said and done, Lake Erie closed out their Wednesday evening contest with a 20-9 win.
Connor Dent and
Kevin Albright each scored three times to lead the Storm.
Brendan Luthart tallied six points on two goals and four assists.
The victory improves their record to 3-7 on the year as they close out non-conference play and return back to action on Saturday April 8th at 3 PM against Alderson Broaddus on the road.
