The game started with an unassisted goal from Goodrich early in the first period. Graduate student Cynthia Saxby scored shortly after, from junior Cassidy Bourne. Lake Erie held a 4-2 lead going into the second period.

After Felician was able to bring the score to 4-3, sophomore Allie Smith found the back of the net from Bourne. The Storm kept it going with an unassisted goal from junior Emma Rhoades. Rhoades scored again toward the end of the period to make it 7-5, after some Golden Falcon goals. The period ended in a 7-7 tie.

Felician scored the first goal of the second half, yet the duo of Smith and Bourne had a response to tie it up 8-8. Goodrich then put away back to back goals, one unassisted and one from Bourne, to give Lake Erie the 10-8 lead. Felician scored late in the third to make it 10-9, with the Storm still ahead.

The Golden Falcons tied it up at 10-10, prior to Goodrich scoring another goal from Bourne in the fourth period. The lead was furthered by another goal from Smith and Bourne, to make it 12-10.
