GENEVA, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's lacrosse team hosted the Edinboro Fighting Scots at the SPIRE Institute for a regular season lacrosse game. Despite the change in time and location due to weather, the Storm was able to prevail and come out with an 11-6 victory. This win moves the Storm up to a 3-2 record overall.
The Fighting Scots put up a fight in the first period against the Storm, holding a 2-1 lead at the end. The Storm responded with three unanswered goals, which gave them a 4-2 lead going into the half. Both teams split the third period with three goals each, but the Storm took charge in the last period scoring four goals over Edinboro's one.
Freshman
Madelyn Goodrich, sophomore Erin Synder, and junior
Cassidy Bourne each had three goals for the night. Sophmore
Shannon Smith was right behind with two goals. Both Goodrich and Bourne tallied an assist as well. Freshman
Cassandra Da Silveira led the Storm in ground balls, picking up five. Freshman goalie
Ainsley Sutter guarded the Storm net, recording two saves playing all sixty minutes.
The Storm look to continue their win streak on Wednesday, March 15th as they head to New York to take on the D'Youville Saints at 5:00 PM.
