BUFFALO, New York — The Lake Erie women's lacrosse team traveled to New York to take on the D'Youville Saints. A last effort goal in the fourth period could not top the Saints, as the Storm fell 16-1. The Storm now have an even 3-3 record for the season.
The Saints took control of the game early in the first period, scoring six. Down in the fourth period, sophomore Shannon Smith scored, unassisted, for the Storm to put them on the board. The Saints would score again, securing a 16-1 win over the Storm.
Graduate student Cynthia Saxby put up a fight with four shots for the game. Freshman Madelyn Goodrich picked up two ground balls, along with three shots. Freshman Ainsley Sutter was in goal for the Storm, recording four saves.
The Storm will now have a short break before returning to play on Friday, March 24th to host the Tiffin Dragons at 6:30 PM.
