PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's lacrosse team returned to their home field for another conference game. The Storm hosted the Walsh Cavaliers, but would be unsuccessful in a 22-1 loss. The Storm now have a 0-3 conference record and are 3-6 overall.
The Cavaliers took control of the game early in the first period. The Storm tried to combat with a goal from junior Cassidy Bourne, unassisted. Bourne finished the night with four shots. Lake Erie was able to take 11 shots with four on goal, but the Cavaliers came out victorious. Sophomore Corinne Shimek picked up three ground balls leading the Storm's defense.
Freshman Avery Artino started in the goal for the Storm, recording six saves. Freshman Ainsley Sutter stepped into the goal for the second half, picking up four saves.
Lake Erie returns home on Sunday, April 2nd to host the Ashland Eagles for another conference match at 12:00 PM.
