Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Albright's Seven Goals Leads Men's Lacrosse Past Walsh

CANTON, Ohio -- The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team competed in their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup of the 2023 season as they traveled to take on the Walsh University Cavaliers on the road. After a slow start, the Storm would pick up the pace and take down the Cavaliers, 16-12.

The Storm came into tonight's matchup having lost their last two and struggling mightily on the season. In the first quarter, the Cavaliers would jump out to an early 4-2 lead but in the second quarter they would go on a 4-0 run and start to take control of the game.

Walsh would start scoring though and managed to tie it up twice during the next two quarters of play although they were never able to take the lead. Halfway through the fourth quarter, Lake Erie would go on a 4-1 run and finish off with an exciting 16-12 victory.

Kevin Albright would have himself a fantastic game, scoring seven goals on 10 shots while also recording an assist.

The Lake Erie defense played much better in the game compared to recent contests as they kept the game physical and forced the Cavaliers to get fewer good looks. In the game, both teams would end up combining for 21 penalties and 11.5 penalty minutes.

The victory continues the Storm's dominance over the Cavaliers, having won 11 of their 12 total contests.

Lake Erie will be in back in action on Saturday, April 1 at home to face the Seton Hill Griffins at 7:00 PM for another G-MAC matchup.
