Box Score CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team hosted the Saint Michael's Purple Knights today, March 12 at Cleveland State's Krenzler Field. The Storm would fall in the competition 18-9 and now drop their record to 1-5.
The Purple Knights controlled the game early getting their lead up to 7-2 shortly into the second quarter. The Storm settled down after that and continued to trade goals and get within four goals. They would start to falter shortly into the third quarter as Saint Michael's continued to expand their lead.
Lake Erie however would not go down without a fight and fought hard, scoring their next two goals in under a minute. That was all the momentum Saint Michaels' would allow the Storm to get however, as they went on a 5-0 run and finished the game, giving Lake Erie an 18-9 loss.
Brendan Luthart led Lake Erie in scoring with three goals while goal keeper Kenneth Shobert finished with 12 saves.
The Storm will be back in action on Friday, March 17th on the road to face the Wilmington Wildcats before competing in their first conference matchup of the year on March 22nd at Walsh.
