MIDLAND, Michigan – The Lake Erie women's basketball team headed to Northwood University to take on the Timberwolves for another GMAC match-up. Although the Storm were leading after the first half, the Timberwolves were able to steal it with a strong fourth quarter, with a final score of 85-65. This brings the overall record for the storm to 8-14 on the season and 4-9 in conference play.
Once again the duo of senior guard Sydney Wyngarden and senior forward Abby Matalavage led the way for the Storm. Wyngarden finished with a team high 18 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Matalavage ended the contest with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Senior guard Angela Fink was an anchor on the defensive end. She would finish the game with two steals, two blocks, eight points, six rebounds, and four assists.
The Storm continue the road stint this Saturday, February 11th, to face the Hillsdale Chargers for a GMAC game at 1:00 PM. The Lake Erie men's basketball team is to follow.
