HILLSDALE, Michigan — The Lake Erie women's basketball team was on the road for another GMAC game at Hillsdale College. The Storm trailed the Chargers most of the game, and despite a hard-fought third quarter, the Storm took the 59-67 loss. This moves the Storm's GMAC record to 4-10, and 8-15 overall.
Sophomore guard
Aislyn Hurst led the show for the Storm, putting up a career high of 27 points. Hurst also led the team with eight rebounds. Senior guard/forward
Abby Matalavage was another key contributor in the game with 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Chargers held a strong lead over the Storm for most of the match, with strong efforts from Lake Erie in the third quarter. The Storm finished with a 34.9 field goal percentage over the Chargers' 32.3 field goal percentage. The Storm also had a solid 79.6 free-throw percentage, yet could not pull ahead of the Chargers.
The Storm will head to Ohio Dominican on Thursday, February 16th for their final regular season road game. The tip-off to start the GMAC match against the Panthers is set at 5:30 PM.
