COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Storm women's basketball team got back in the win column, with a 78-71 inner-conference win over the Ohio Dominican Panthers. This win brings the season record to 9-15 and 4-10 in conference play.

The Storm had four players in double digits tonight. Led by senior forward Abby Matalavage, going eight for 10 from the field and finishing with 21 points, two rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Senior guard Angela Fink was the Storms' next highest scorer on the night with 15 points. Fink also finished with two blocks, four rebounds, and, adding to her conference leading assist total, five on the night. Sophomore guard Aislyn Hurst finished tonight's contest with 14 points, three rebounds, and one steal. Senior guard Sydney Wyngarden would be the fourth overall Storm in double digits with 12 points, three assists, three of the team's total six steals, two rebounds, and one block to end the night.

Lake Erie forced 16 Panther turnovers, which led to 21 points. Lake Erie's tough defense held Ohio Dominican to just a nine point second quarter, and a 43.9 shooting percentage from the field. The Storm would shoot a fantastic 54.5% from the floor on a 30-55 shooting stint. Wyngarden and Hurst combined for four of the seven made threes for the Storm; the team would go 38.9% from behind the arch.
