MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Lake Erie College men's basketball team traveled to Midland, Michigan to take on the Northwood Timberwolves for their second of their final four road games on the year. They would take care of business and took down the Timberwolves 72-56.
It was a relatively easier road contest for the Storm as the only trailed briefly in the contest. Northwood opened up the game with a 4-1 run but that would be the extend of their lead on the day. The Storm took a 5-4 lead and they never looked back.
Lake Erie dominated on the glass, out-rebounding Northwood 43-26 and added three blocks in the contest, two of which came from freshman
Jake Leibacher.
Junior
Jacob Plantz would once again lead the Storm win scoring with a 16 point effort adding six rebounds as well. Redshirt junior
Jordan Burge would have a very similar statline with 15 points and seven rebounds to his name.
As a team, Lake Erie would shoot 43.5% from the field, 25% from deep and 75% from the charity stripe.
The win gives the Storm their 10th Great Midwest Athletic Conference win of the season and improves their conference record to 10-6 while putting them at a 13-9 overall. They will be back in action on Saturday, February 11 on the road to face the #15 Hillsdale Chargers. The Storm defeated Chargers in their last meeting together earlier in the season in Painesville to hand them their first loss of the season.
