ASHLAND, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled to Ashland University to face the Eagles for another GMAC game. The Storm were able to match Ashland's 19 points in the second quarter, but the Eagles held their lead to seal the win with a final score of 81-44.This brings Lake Erie's overall record to 8-13, and 4-9 in conference play.
The Storm went 20-65 from the field, ending with a 30.8 shooting percentage. They would go 2-2 for 100% from the stripe. The Storm would end the game scoring 32 of their 44 total points in the paint. Lake Erie forced Ashland to 14 total turnovers, scoring eight points off of the Eagles mistakes.
Senior guard
Sydney Wyngarden led the way for the Storm with 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Wyngarden went 6/10 from the field, shooting a solid 60%, a bright spot from the afternoon. Senior forward

Kayla Clark ended the game with 10 rebounds, six points, one block and one steal.
Angela Fink still leads the GMAC conference in assists per game with 5.3, the next closest being 4.6.
Abby Matalavage is now third overall for the GMAC conference in total points scored per contest with 19.0.
The Storm look to get back in the win column with a road game against the Northwood Timberwolves on Thursday, February 9th at 6:00 PM.
