First Winning Season Since 2018-19 Secured With Win Over Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team traveled to Columbus, Ohio today to take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers for their final road game of the season. The Storm would have a very successful night on the court and return back home with a 70-57 victory.

Lake Erie was firing on all cylinders to start the contest, jumping out to as much as a 22-point lead at one point and finishing the half with a 44-24 edge. The Panthers never were able to figure out the Storm and only managed to get within 10 points the rest of the way.

Jordan Burge was impress in the win tallying 20 points on 8-13 shooting, including 3-5 from deep, while adding seven rebound and four steals during 35 minutes of play. 

As a team, Lake Erie shot 41.8% from the field, 39.3% from deep range, and a season-high 92.9% from the charity stripe.

The victory also secures the Storm's first winning season since the 2018-19 campaign in which they went 17-12 and secured a birth into the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament. 

The Storm inch closer and close to another G-MAC tournament appearance this season as they now sit in fourth-place with an 11-7 conference record.

The G-MAC tournament is slated to begin on February 28th and run through March 4th. Standings and seeding into the tournament will be determined by winning percentage with the top eight teams earning spots.

The Storm will be back in action on Saturday, February 18 at home for a very import contest against the Tiffin Dragons who currently hold an 8-8 conference record.
