Storm Fall in Second Half to Panthers

Columbus, Ohio — The Lake Erie College Storm had another conference matchup on Saturday, October 7, when they traveled south to play the Ohio Dominican University Panthers. They looked to get back on track after last week's heartbreaking last second loss. The Storm would fall today 41-17 after a stellar first half of play.

On the second play of action, Xeavier Bullock connected with Jovohn Tucker on an 83 yard pitch and catch for a Storm touchdown. Jorge Sanchez would continue the great play for the Storm with a first quarter interception. This would give Lake Erie a great starting field position on the ODU 10 yard line. On the first play after the interception, Bullock hit Maliek Carter for a quick 10 yard touchdown catch. The Storm would take early control with two first half touchdown drives leading 14-0 after the first quarter. Getting out to a quick start was key to this matchup for the Storm. Ian Scannell made a 23 yard field goal to put Lake Erie up 17-7 at the end of the first half.

This game was a tale of two halves. Lake Erie was unable to get back on the scoreboard in the second half. The Storm would eventually fall to the Panthers 41-17.

The Lake Erie offense was led by Xeavier Bullock and Jovohn Tucker. Bullock finished the day going 16/30 completing 53% of his passes with two passing touchdowns. Bullock finished with 21 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Keed Kpoto finished the game with 31 yards on the ground off of six attempts. Tucker's final stat line of the night was an impressive five grabs for a game high 133 yards. Tony Edwards added 42 receiving yards on four catches.

Defensively, the Storm were led by Euvoski Cunningham, totaling nine tackles, with seven being solo. Cameron Webb finished with six solo tackles and seven total on the day. Jorge Sanchez finished a good day with six total tackles, three solo, and one interception on the day. Cameren Grodhaus also added five tackles with three solo tackles.
