PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled to Ursuline College to face the Arrows for another regular season game. After a strong second half performance, and holding the Arrows to just a 12 point fourth quarter, coach Perdas and the Storm would fall with a final score of 59-70. This loss brings the Storm's overall record to 6-10 on the season.
Lake Erie was led by the trio of senior guard Sydney Wyngarden, senior forward Abby Matalavage, and sophomore guard Taylor Thomas. In a team high of 32 minutes, Wyngarden finished with a team leading 15 points off a 7-16 shooting stint. She would also end the game with two assists, two steals, and one block. Matalavage filled up the stat sheet tonight night where she picked up 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block. Thomas finished the contest with 12 points and six rebounds.
The Storm continue their two game road trip on Saturday, January 21st when they take on the Yellow Jackets of Cedarville University. Tip off is set at 2 PM.
