PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team squared off against the Malone Pioneers for an inner conference matchup on Saturday, January 14. After a strong first half outing, the Storm fell to the Pioneers 73-51. 

The Storm were led by senior forward Abby Matalavage. Matalavage would end the contest going 7-15 from the field and 4-4 from the foul line. Matalavage finished with 19 points, four rebounds, one block, and one steal in 29 minutes. Senior guard Angela Fink was right behind with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Sophomore guard Aislyn Hurst also fought for the Storm, putting up nine points with a leading 12 rebounds. 

The Storm are on the road for their next non-conference match against the Ursuline Arrows on Tuesday, January 17th with tip-off set at 5:30 PM.
