Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Storm men's soccer team traveled to Ohio Dominican University to take on the Panthers for the second time this season. The Storm and the Panthers tied 1-1 for the final score, bringing the Storm to a 1-5-2 record and the Panthers to a 2-2-3 record.
The Storm started the first half off with a shot from sophomore Marcus Somohano at 2:56 that missed off target. Sophomore goalie Tomas Wroblewski made his first save of the night guarding the goal at 10:31. The Storm continued to shoot with another shot by sophomore Connor Mautino at 11:08, missing off target. The Panthers responded with a goal from a penalty kick at 16:07, taking the lead at 1-0. The Storm kept fighting, with a shot from sophomore Teddy Baker at 25:11, off target. Mautino took another shot at 28:56, but the Panthers goalie saved it. Wroblewski made another save, followed by shots from senior Ben Wiemann and senior Gio Da Costa, but neither made it in. The period finished with another Storm shot by senior Tom Akinola, but missed off target.
The Panthers held the 1-0 lead going into the second half. Mautino gave the Storm another shot at tying it up, but missed off target. At 55:34, Baker fired a shot in the bottom left of the goal to put the Storm on the board. With a 1-1 tied score, the Storm kept it going with another shot from Mautino at 57:27, blocked. Freshman Simon Wollesen took a shot at 79:04 to try and give the Storm the lead, but the Panthers goalie saved it. The clock ran out without another goal, finalizing the score at a 1-1 tie.
The Storm return to their home field on Saturday, September 24th for a conference match against the Ashland Eagles at 5:00 PM.
