Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm men's soccer team took the field Saturday afternoon, September 17, at home to take on the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans. They would fall in the match, 3-2 and drop their season record to 1-5-1.
Things did not start off well for the Storm, as they ceded a goal less than two minutes into the game. The Trojans would score another goal at the 9:27 mark, giving Lake Erie a 2-0 less than 10 minutes into the game.
With a quick deficit piling up, the Storm would kick things back into gear and play shutout defense the remainder of the half.
Lake Erie would get themselves on the board however a few minutes later at the 14:54 mark when Connor Mautino would find Teddy Baker, cutting the Trojan lead in half and giving the carrying that score for the remainder of the first half.
The Storm would come out of the locker room looking great. Getting plenty of great looks and managed to tie things up 18 minutes into the second half with a goal by Tom Akinola.
With the momentum shifting, Trevecca would take back the lead eight minutes later. A lead that they would keep until the final minutes, giving them a 3-2 victory.
The Storm will return to action on Sunday, September 22 on the road to take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers for the second time this season.
