Box Score GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania - With the spring sports now in mid-season form, the Lake Erie men's lacrosse team took a trip out to Pennsylvania to face off with the Seton Hill Griffins in their second conference contest of the year. Unfortunately, the Storm struggled offensively all day, and the Griffins sent the Storm packing with a 25-5 win.
The game was closely contested at first with both teams trading goals in the first. Dawson Kindall and Nick Askin would log unassisted goals, but it was Seton Hill who held a 4-2 lead after the first period.
In the second, the Storm's offensive struggles really came to light. Brendan Luthart would put one past the Seton Hill goalkeeper from a Zephaniah Scott assist, but the Griffins would take control of the game shortly thereafter with a staggering more 10 goals in the 2nd. They would take a 15-3 lead into halftime.
In the third, it was more of the same with Seton Hill pushing their advantage to 23-3 by the end of the period. In the fourth, Jackman Schooley tried to start a Storm comeback bid with an early unassisted goal. Nick Askin would also add another goal for the Storm off of a Connor Dent assist. Unfortunately, the Storm could not seem to find a groove offensively, and Seton Hill went away with the 25-5 win.
Luckily for the Storm, the lacrosse season is far from over, so they have ample opportunity to get back to their winning ways. Their next chance will be on Saturday, April 9th when they head to Wheeling, West Virginia to face off with the Wheeling Cardinals. That contest is slated for a 2 pm start at Wheeling's Bishop Schmitt Field.
