Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's lacrosse team took down the Davenport University Panthers on March 26, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, 12-11.
The Storm, coming off a disappointing loss to Mercyhurst previously during the week, were looking to get back on track on the road against the Panthers but found themselves getting off to a slow start in the game as the managed to score just one goal in the first quarter of play.
The game would take a big turn for Lake Erie when they went on a 6-1 run in the second quarter thanks in part to excellent play from Blain Wallace who would record three goals.
After finishing the half with a 7-4 lead, the contest would heat up as Davenport refused to go away and continued to claw back and keep the Storm on their toes. They would manage to stay within two points throughout most of the half and with 1:35 left in the game, they would give Lake Erie a scare by coming within a point.
The Storm would manage to hold off the Panthers and finish off the game with a 12-11 victory.
On the day, Wallace would lead the team with five goals with Dawson Kindall and Brendan Luthart adding two as well.
The win improves the Storm's record to 3-5 on the season. Lake Erie will be back in action, Sat. April 2 on the road to face Seton Hill University at 12:00 PM.
