Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's soccer team took on the 2nd-seed Ashland Eagles on November 3 for a semifinal matchup in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament. Lake Erie would put up a tough fight but would fall 1-0 in Tiffin.
In a rematch of their season finale, the tight matchup would continue with a scoreless first half. Despite the scoreless half, Lake Erie would look to have the slight edge as they continued to get good looks but could not complete accurate enough passes to finish off their offensive advances.
The Storm would continue to threaten in the second half but weren't able to get one in. A cost penalty in the box by Tomas Fernenadez would set Ashland up for a penalty kick which they would make, giving them a 1-0 lead.
Lake Erie wouldn't be able to come back from the deficit and dropped the match, 1-0.
The Storm now fall to 10-7-3 with an 8-5-2 conference record and will now wait and see if they can earn a bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament. The selection show is set for Sunday, November 6.
