Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's soccer team hosted the University of Findlay Oilers on October 9, for another Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup. The Storm would take care of the Oilers 1-0 and improve their record to 4-6-3 on the season with a 3-4-2 conference record.
Emerging from a recent hot streak, the Storm found themselves with an uneventful first half as the game remained scoreless with neither team getting off many shots.
The second half would remain the same story for most of the half, but with 11 minutes remaining, a penalty on Teddy Baker in the box would line up Fabian Kiessetz for a penalty kick which he would make and put the Storm up 1-0.
The Storm would threaten to score a few more times in the half, including a series of back-to-back-to-back shots by Baker and Daniel Utgaard that would be saved by the Oilers goalkeeper each time.
On the day, goalkeeper Tomas Wroblewski would record three saves in the contest and Baker would record six shots, including five on goal.
The Storm will return to action on Tuesday, October 11 on the road against Walsh University at 5:00 PM.
