Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's soccer traveled to Ashland, Ohio, on October 25 for their final regular season matchup of the year to take on the top-seeded Ashland Eagles. Lake Erie would come away with the victory and improve their record to 9-6-3 on the season with an 8-4-2 conference record.
It was a tight first half with both teams showing why they are ranked at the top of the conference standings. After the end of the first half, the score would remain at 0-0 with neither team holding a strong momentum.
It would only take 3 minutes into the second half however until the first goal of the game would be scored and it would once again be scored by the Storm's leading scorer, Connor Mautino with the assists coming from Teddy Baker and Marcos Somohano.
Three minutes later, the Eagles would manage to tie things up on an unassisted goal by Oliver Lovell.
After a 15-minute scoring drought, Teddy Baker would score on a penalty kick which would prove to be the deciding goal in the matchup. With four minutes left, reigning G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week, Tom Akinola would put the cherry on top with his 11th goal of the season, assisted by Teddy Baker to give the Storm a 3-1 victory.
This concludes the regular season for the Storm as they await their G-MAC tournament seeding to determine who they play on Saturday, October 29.
