Box Score The Lake Erie Storm men's soccer team returned to the field on a home contest on Sunday against the Panthers of Ohio Dominican University. The game was closely contested, and it was the Panthers who would find the edge with an overtime goal to decide the match at 2-1.
The match was neck and neck for the entirety of the contest. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, but it was Inigo Jimenez Garcia who broke the deadlock in the 61st minute.
After conceding a goal to the Panthers in the 79th minute, the game was pushed into overtime where the Panthers pulled ahead with a goal in the 100th minute to finish the contest.
The Storm defense had another competitive game, despite the loss. Senior goalkeeper Tom John added another 5 saves to his career totals here at Lake Erie. Offensively, Ayden Von Essen led the team with 4 shots. Tom Pearson and Jackson Beske each also added 2 shots apiece.
The Storm kick off again with another home contest when the Malone Pioneers come to town for a 1 pm start on Thursday, September 30th.
