Box Score (PAINESVILLE, Ohio) - Thomas Hanulak scored three times to lead the Seton Hill Griffins to a 17-7 victory over the host Lake Erie men's lacrosse on Saturday evening at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. The Storm falls to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in G-MAC play, while the No.5 Griffins move to 6-1, and 3-1 in conference action.
Tommy Bichsel and Dawson Kindall lead Lake Erie with two goals apiece. JP Napier, Blain Wallace, and Neil Gardner each added a goal. Tyler Manning continued to be the defensive anchor with three caused turnovers and six ground balls.
At the start of the game, Seton Hill opened up with a 3-0 run before goals from Kindall and Bichsel. The Griffins then went 10-1 run to close out the first half.
The third period was the best for Lake Erie with three goals scored compared to Seton Hill's two. Going into the final period of play the Storm down 15-6. Bichsel scored the final Lake Erie goal with 4:32 left in the game to cut the deficit to 16-7.
Mike Flury won 14 of 26 faceoff attempts, while Lincoln Potter finished with 15 saves on 32 shots. Seton Hill outshot the Storm 48-39 despite committing 14 turnovers.
With two games remaining, Lake Erie now prepares for the second matchup against Mercyhurst on Saturday, April 24 at 7:00 pm.
