Box Score (PHILIPPI, W.Va.) - Four consecutive goals to end the first quarter helped Lake Erie to their dominating win over Alderson Broaddus by a score of 25-4 in Philippi on Tuesday afternoon. The win over the Battlers (1-5, 1-2 G-MAC) was the second-straight G-MAC win for the Storm (4-5, 2-2 G-MAC).
In the second quarter, Lake Erie completely took over the affair and continued to apply pressure by adding seven more goals and extended the lead to 12-3 at halftime. At the intermission, the Storm held a 32-6 shot advantage, forced 12 turnovers, and had 29 groundballs.
The scoring run continued into the third quarter for Lake Erie as five more goals were added in the third quarter. The Storm held Alderson Broaddus scoreless in the period. It was not until the start of the fourth quarter when the Battlers were able to score their third and final goal of the game.
JP Napier, Tommy Bichsel, Dawson Kindall, Tyler Zeplowitz, Nathan Quinn, Blain Wallace, Neil Gardner, Michael Bayda, Connor Dent, Cole Byrne, Brendan Luthart, and Jackman Schooley each scored in the game for Lake Erie. Bichsel found the back of the net four times, while Gardner, Wallace, and Schooley scored three times each. Kindall and Bayda sniped in two apiece.
Bichsel, Wallace, and Quinn led Lake Erie with three assists individually. Lincoln Potter earned the win between the pipes with one save on four shot attempts. Mitch Kiebala came in relief and closed out the game with three saves on four shot attempts. Mike Flurry continued to dominate as he has all season by winning 26 of 30 faceoffs.
Lake Erie will now return home and prepare to host the No. 4 Seton Hill Griffins on Saturday, April 17. Game time at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium is set for 7:00 pm.
