Box Score (LAKEWOOD, N.J.) - Lake Erie men's lacrosse (0-1, 0-0 G-MAC) dropped the season opener against Georgian Court 12-8 Saturday afternoon. Saturday's match was an evenly matched contest throughout much of the affair.
Blain Wallace and Connor Dent both led the Storm with 2 goals apiece. Jackman Schooley contributed two-assist of Lake Erie's goals.
Dent started things off for the Storm in the first quarter scoring unassisted at the 10:55 mark. Georgian Court (1-0, 0-0 CACC) would go on to score four goals to finish the opening period. In the second half, it was all Lake Erie, the Storm scored six goals to take a 7-5 at the end of the half.
Wallace, Neil Gardner, JP Napier, Mike Flury, Tommy Bichsel each scored their first goal of the season going into the halftime break.
Georgian Court tied the game up scoring the only goal in the third quarter. At the start of the fourth, the Lions scored six straight goals to put the game out of reach. It was in the final ten seconds that Wallace was able to end the second-half scoring drought for Lake Erie.
Lake Erie will return back to Painesville looking to bounce back in their home opener against Frostburg St. on Saturday, March 6.
