Box Score After a strong performance last weekend, the Lake Erie Storm men's soccer program took the field for a road contest at conference newcomer Ashland, and they came away with an efficient 2-0 win.
Like many games this season, the Storm got off to a good start with yet another Ayden Von Essen goal in the 12th minute. The Storm defense controlled the game by limiting the Eagles' scoring opportunities, and they took that 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
After the break, the Storm added another goal from Fabian Kiessetz, who was assisted by Inigo Jimenz Garcia on the play in the 66th minute. That 2-0 lead was enough to earn the Storm another conference win and their 4th clean sheet of the fall. Senior goalkeeper Tom John added another 5 saves to his impressive collegiate career numbers.
Head coach Louie Rolko and the Storm will return to action for a home contest against the Dragons of Tiffin University on Saturday, October 23rd for a 1 pm kickoff. The women's Storm soccer team will also take on the Dragons immediately after the men's game.
